Here at Carters Lane we’re a mixed group of people worshipping and taking part in activities, which all began over 200 years ago inside a pair of cottages in Illey.

In those days Sunday School was the only way for ordinary folk to gain knowledge and an education.  Creating a church within the Sunday school cottages was the way the Elders thought was best to serve the wider community, and so it proved.

The present Church continues this philosophy of reaching out into our community and beyond.  You dont need to be a worshipper for the weekday events. If you fancy coming to a service we would feel privileged. Equally if all you want to do is come to a service then thats good. You’ll find that being Baptist defines our non-conformist outlook to christianity.

Come and join in.

In the community we encourage folks to help the Black Country Food Bank with donations of food and daily essentials which can provide help for three days for adults and children who desperately need the help.

For our local community we have a monthly Senior Citizens Lunch club, an over 50’s tea & natter club where old and new friendships are made over a cuppa. There are also gentle exercise classes on a Tuesday afternoon, Line dancing on a Wednesday……

For other organisations we raise money through specific events such as  hosting the annual Coffee Morning for MacMillans Nursing which this year 2018 raised £1087. Periodically we choose a different project to support, and presently this is ‘Sunflowers’, a group that supports those bereaved and affected by a suicide. This years Comic Relief coffee morning is on Friday 15th March 2019.

We’re an outgoing church with people coming from all walks of life, all attempting to put a better meaning into life through the Bible and the Church.

Why not come and see.
